How Valtrex is usually taken
Take this medication as your physician prescribed. Treatment should begin as soon as possible after the first appearance of symptoms (e.g. for cold sores: tingling, burning, or blisters). Take each does with a full glass of water and take with food to decrease chances of an upset stomach.

Potential Side Effects of Valtrex
Stop taking medication and seek emergency medical attention if you experience an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of the throat; swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; or hives). Continue use of Valtrex and contact your physician if you experience lesser side effects such as: dizziness, headaches, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, or abdominal pain.
