Prilosec - Stomach

Typical uses of Prilosec
Prilosec decreases the amount of acid produced in the stomach. This in turn is used to treat ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD or heartburn), erosive esophagitis, and other conditions involving excessive stomach acid production.

How Prilosec is usually taken
Take this medication as your physician prescribed. Take Prilosec orally, usually once daily, about 15 to 30 minutes before a meal with a full glass of water. Never crush or chew the medication.

Potential Side Effects of Prilosec
Headache, diarrhea, gas, or constipation. If any of these effects persist or worsen, contact your physician. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: rash, stomach/abdominal pain, back pain, unusual tiredness, dizziness, vomiting. An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, trouble breathing.
