Norvasc is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and to treat angina (chest pain).

How Norvasc is usually taken
Take this medication as your physician prescribed. If you miss a dose of Norvasc, take it as soon as you remember, unless it is almost time for the next one. In that case, skip the missed dose and go back to your schedule. Do not take double doses of amlodipine. Take orally with food. Tablets can be crushed.

Potential Side Effects of Norvasc
Some possible side effects include: Flushing, low blood pressure (hypotension), sexual dysfunction, swelling of feet or ankles, swelling of male breast. Contact your physician if any side effects persist.
