Nexium is a pill for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux, also called heartburn or acid reflux.

How Nexium is usually taken
Take this medication as your physician prescribed. Take Nexium orally at least 1 hour before a meal with a full glass of water. Do not crush, break, or chew the Nexium capsules. Chewing Nexium or storing it in a mixture with food can increase the side effects, destroy the medicine, or both.

Potential Side Effects of Nexium
Constipation or diarrhea, nausea, flatulence, headache, cough, rash or dry mouth. Nexium side effects may subside as the body adjusts, but if they do not contact your physician.
