Typical uses of Elavil
Elavil is used to treat depression, obsessive-compulsive disorders (OCD), and bed-wetting in children over 6 years of age (enuresis).

How Elavil is usually taken
Take this medication as your physician prescribed. Take your medication at the same times each day so your body can get use to it and so you can remember to take it. It often takes up to 3 weeks for the entire effects of the medicine to be felt so do not stop taking without approval of your physician.

Potential Side Effects of Elavil
Some possible side effects: drowsiness, dizziness, increased sun sensitivity or blurred vision. At the beginning of use the medication may cause dizziness and lightheadedness when rising too quickly from a sitting or lying position. Contact your physician if any of these effects persist.
